It is easy to recycle paper, cardboard and carton packaging. What comes through the letterbox is normally paper that can be recovered. The cardboard and carton packaging of goods bought in the shops is paperboard that can be recovered. There are collection points in the waste disposal areas of apartment blocks, alongside streets and roads, and in shopping malls.
Paperinkeräys Oy is a recovered-paper wholesaler, and it buys, processes and sells recovered paper and board. The company procures paper and board for use as renewable raw material through its comprehensive system of recovery from area collection points, residential and office premises, paper collection and waste management businesses, printing houses, and other industrial and commercial sources. Export and import activities also help in managing the flows of material. The most important export grades are paper recovered from households and certain special types of paper for which there is no demand in Finland. Exports go to markets in central Europe and Asia.
